Happy New Year...

The other day we took a drive across town to a new park that just opened. It is on an island in the Arkansas River.
To get there we had to drive over the bridge in the background and then walk over the new pedestrian bridge to the island.
I guess Arkansas must be doing alright because this is some kind of walking bridge. See it curve back to land way in the distance?
Once on the island the paths are paved and walking is easy. It doesn't look like it but many people were out enjoying the wonderful temperatures
We even scared up a couple of deer who quickly high-tailed it out of there.
Our couple of "dear" were snuggled in their Bob.
With the new year just about dawning upon us...
I couldn't help but thinking that maybe the geese in the back pond were sending a year-end message. I think this honker is saying as he flaps his wings....
If any of you plan to tip "bottoms up" in the next day or so....
Please make sure that you have a least one "designated diver!"
Happy New Year

The Many Faces of Mr. M.

Since Tutu had quite a bit of space devoted to our little Sweetie, Miss E, I thought I would talk about Mr. M. This little guy can steal my heart with a smile like this. But he has other expressions for me too.
Here is the expression that says: "Papa, how many times have I told you that the name of that car is Mater?"
Here is the: "I'm trying to be patient with you, Papa."
And doesn't every little boy have the "who me" look?
And this is the look you get when you have repeated M's name five times while he is reading a book. "Huh, you said something?"
When Mr. M is in deep thought, you get a look like this.
And whoever thought that saying "cheese" looks like smiling?
The look of a loving Big Brother... so sweet and gentile.
And finally, my little buddy gives you this look when he has crashed but not quite burned. It is sort of "I'm OK, Papa," look. What a guy!

Santa, Solstice, and Silent Night

Today is the shortest day of the year which means in a few more weeks the sunset will not be around 4:40 pm anymore.
We took a drive around town looking for the best and brightest displays of the season.
Santa and his reindeer looked like a lot of work. The tree below is hard to show how tall it is until you see the 12-14 foot trees decorated below it.
Other homes obviously had gone to a lot of work and expense.

Here was the winner for creativity and amazing displays which was choreographed to a local radio station to blink and change with the music!
One home for years has a door above the garage where the true meaning of Christmas is clearly displayed. Sometimes we forget, don't we?
Merry Christmas!
