Frosty Mornings

As winter starts to let loose of its grip, the temperatures start to rise.
With snow on the ground, the warmth meets the cold and usually fog results.
Fog means beautiful, frosty trees.  We had such a morning today.
When the sun is backlit on the frosty trees the bits of frost sparkle like diamonds.
Willow trees look like long strings of frosty whips.
Unfortunately, the beauty doesn't last long.
The sparkle of the frost warms up and the wind strips the trees of their diamonds.
Some things in life have to be appreciated in the moment.

Surprise Blizzard

Sometimes the weather bureau hypes the coming storms and they don't amount to anything.  Yesterday it was the reverse.  The pleasant Sunday was interrupted with a phone notice of a coming blizzard.  Well, it is happening... a surprise blizzard.
It is hard to capture on a single snapshot, but the wind is gusting to 50mph but thankfully, we didn't get that much snow.
The schools are closed as well as many businesses and roads in the area.
Don't feel sorry for us.  This is why we live here.  It makes us tough and keeps out the riff raff.  The wind is still blowing and the temps are -10.  We love it.  Yah right!  This is why we are hoping to get out of here soon so we can shorten this sucker!
