Getting in the mood for Christmas

This big fella was holed up in a friend's tree.  I wish I could have gotten closer but he was too wise for me.  You really can't see it but he has one big eye open checking me out.
The Christmas Tree is decorated but there are no gifts.  We decided years ago that the best way to get what you wanted for Christmas was to buy it yourself.  Also, this tree is skinny.  We figured that very few gifts would fit under it and being skinny maybe it will encourage us not to eat so much during the season.
We made a quick trip to Little Rock from where our family recently moved to get one of their cars that didn't sell before they moved to Hawaii.  We drove it back to sell up north.  Of course on the way down we had to stop at the Mall of America.  They seemed to have the opposite problem that we had with the tree.  They had big ornaments but no tree.
Again they had lots of strings of lights but no tree.  Maybe next year we will try this... just place the ornaments around and hang lights from the ceiling and forget the tree!
Of course the kids attractions don't change even for Christmas.  Who ever rides a Ferris Wheel at Christmas?
And Lego land is appropriate any time of year.
When we got to Little Rock we had to drive by the house of our family for sentimental reasons.  So many good memories. It looked just the same as it did two months ago when they moved.
When we got back to the cities our car was waiting with this little gift.  So we are set for Christmas with a tree and lights and snow and a car to sell.  I will accept any reasonable offers.  No, this isn't the car I am selling but as M says, "Everything is for sale."
