Closing up shop

Soon the views from the backyard will no longer be MacknEllie's pond but a body of water much bigger and warmer.
Meanwhile, two sets of movers have come and gone and one more comes to empty the house this week.  The TV has been replaced with the computer for kids' shows.
And a bed quilt makes a good roof for a fort under some remaining chairs... unless of course a little one decides to sit on the roof.
An empty living room makes a great place to do all the things you couldn't do when there was furniture in it like running and tumbling and whatever.
When that gets too rough, as it often does, there are always computer lessons to catch up on and a dress rehearsal of the pumpkin outfit for Halloween.
Walks outdoors is still a popular option to keep a little one occupied and sunglasses are a must.
And the back yard still makes a great place for brother and sister to romp.
Notice the long sleeves... the weather has finally broken and it feels like fall.  It looks like they are holding hands, but believe me, they aren't.
And then there are always books to read... lots and lots of books.
But sometimes a kid has to get creative to have fun.  These giggles are because older brother is spinning the desk chair giving some favorite toys a merry-go-round ride.

Very soon it will be time to say good-bye to the home that has been theirs for 3 plus years.
And hello to new adventures and friends in the land where winter never comes.
