Angels, Carolers, Deer or Dear?
After returning from Wednesday night church, I heard a car door slam and went to the door to find these five characters. Were they Carolers because they did sing... or were they
angels perhaps? Naw. They looked like Reindeer but they only had two legs. Someone suggested they were Mooseketeers. I decided that they were really just some Dears. Just gals who were looking for an excuse to have a ladies night out. I didn't know if I should be honored or discouraged since they obviously considered me as old enough to have carolers. I'll choose the former. I felt honored!

Only in Arkansas - A little boy's dream!
I sent this bit of photo trickery of our time at the Arkansas Pig Race to M and his mother said:
"We showed Mack the photo at dinner and you should have seen his face. He just stared at it like, 'what in the world!?'" Then we all laughed and he laughed and kept asking to "ride a pig?" His Daddy said: "now he's going to want his own pig!"
What a great idea for Christmas...

It's Time... I guess.
We have had a great six weeks waiting for the arrival and then spending time getting to know Miss Ellie.

But now it is time to head north. The geese from up north are down here finding open water and 80 degree temps.... the wimps.
The leaves have reached their peak a full month and a half later than at home.

We've had a great time being Papa and Tutu to this guy and Little Sister.
We spent one more day down by the Arkansas River...

Overwhelmed...
Sometimes being a Big Brother is a bit overwhelming. There are so many changes and responsibilities....
Like keeping track of E's Bear and not getting it mixed up with my "Uncle Jim Bear."
Then I have to practice my counting skills on E's buttons.
There are relatives that come to see E and packages that arrive... for... E!
I have to share the couch with Daddy and "someone else."
I still have all my toys and sometimes have to get into my toy box to find what I am looking for.
And there are other responsibilities like covering E's mouth when she yawns. (During the photo shoot E decides she should up chuck on mommy's shirt.)
And I try to teach her new things like rubbing my head and patting my stomach... at the same time... try it if you think that is easy.

"Picture, Papa?"
Sometimes you get the message even if it comes from a little guy. I have been taking his picture so much since I have been here that when he was showing me his new/used lawn mower, he stopped and asked: "Picture, Papa?"
Of course I obliged and got my camera. He has so many great facial expressions... like happy/funny...
or quizical...
or just full of spunk like here when he decides to carry his trike rather than ride it.
