Texas Time

We made a visit to our Texas family in their new leased home.   It is much bigger than their Hawaii home at Hickam AFB.  We were able to enjoy some new restaurants, look for a church home (still under way), and explore the area a bit.
Of course the main attraction is spending time with these two.  They each have a bedroom with "walk-in" closets which M said was his favorite thing about their home.

We watched March Madness and UND win the Hockey Frozen Four Championship.
Sioux-per Hawk-ey (Only UND fans will understand this)
I know, I am hard-up taking a picture of a robin... except when you haven't seen one for six months they look pretty good.
Daddy and M got to see the second Star Wars movie.  Quite a treat for M as his lego collection includes some characters and he knows details only a little boy would care about.  I kept calling R2D2 "Arthur Tutu."
These two have an interesting relationship, sometimes very mature and caring...
But most of the time a little wild and crazy.
We explored a local state park... it wasn't like Itasca in northern Minnesota.

Their home is very energy efficient and is one of the few homes with a metal roof.  I think it should help reflect that Texas sun this summer.  Only wish it didn't take so long to drive there... 19 hours.  Hawaii was further but took less time to fly to than it takes to drive to Texas.
