| A couple in our park invited us to go for a pontoon ride toward evening last night. It was a good time to check on the progress of the loon family. Last time we were out the little one had been hatched for about a week. |

| As you can see, he has grown considerably since last time. Soon the parents will head south and the little ones will remain and gain strength. Then they will head south to stay in the gulf or off the Florida coast for three years before returning to a lake near their hatching point. |

| It was a gorgeous night for a ride on the lake. |

| As the sun was setting we spotted a lone eagle on a favorite perch. Soon another came in to join his/her partner. |

| For once I had my camera available and caught the landing. |

| There the two sat, surveying their kingdom and probably glad that they weren't bound to the lake or land like us humans. |

| We've had some pretty moon rises lately. This one taken last weekend. Makes me want to "hit the hay." |
