Just a Little Explanation

Some of our friends from up north have wondered why we go away for awhile in winter.  They point out how beautiful the fresh white snow is on everything after a blizzard... and another... and another...and....
And how even new artwork appears when you open the back door.
It is so fun climbing over drifts that are waist deep.  Let alone moving it off the sidewalk.
The back yards take on a tundra look which is sort of cool... really cool.
It is hard to explain to convinced North Dakotans why we would leave such a home in winter to enjoy a color other than white.
Having heard of their nearly a half dozen blizzards and temperatures in the negative 30's, I'm not sure if anything I say would convince them that there is somewhere a bit nicer to spend January and February.
The common complaint is that the desert is not very pretty compared to the frosting white of Dakota.
But we do have a lot of white too.
And you don't have to scoop it.
And mostly the white stays up in the clouds where it belongs.
Shoot, some people have even said that we look younger when we get back from a winter in Arizona... what do you think?
