Trip to Ghost Ranch and Echo Canyon...echo canyon.

Today we drove a couple of hours north to visit Ghost Ranch and Echo Canyon. What would this blog be without a visit from a bald eagle? Marilyn spotted it on the hillside along with......this four footed creature... a coyote.

Yes, Ghost Ranch was a ranch at one time but was given to the PCA for a conference grounds. It was also a home for artist Georgia O'keefe.
This is chimney rock which I waited and waited for the sun to shine upon, but no luck.
Now everyone yell "Hello" at the top of your lungs... did you hear an echo? You should of cuz you are in Echo Canyon.
The snow of yesterday was sticking around on these upper rocks.
Here is Chimney Rock again on the way home and still little sun.
Nearer to Santa Fe, the sun did shine a bit.
These pictures don't do justice to the beauty of these cliffs.
This was my favorite peak. I named it pulpit rock cuz it looks like a pulpit... sorta....maybe not.
There is a story behind this traveling red toaster, but it will have to wait for another time.
