One More Time

We headed into the Pacific one more time to help with the move back to the mainland.  This was our view for ten hours while we waited inside the airport for our plane to get repaired in Minneapolis.  We arrived there at 6:15am and left at 4:15pm.  Needless to say our 1:15pm arrival time in Hawaii was 9:15pm.  I wasn't so sure I wanted to get on the plane they had just spent nine hours working on.  Oh, then we waited for a first officer to come from Atlanta after rebounding.
After being awake for 24 hours and a short night's rest, the boys and E headed to the Marine Base for their open house.  The weather was mostly cloudy but this F-16 showed off its stuff under the clouds.
The big draw for the day was the Blue Angels seen here parked and ready to go.
This guy, a civilian, was nuts with what he made his plane do.  Definitely not things planes should be doing; but he is a three time national champion of something, maybe because no one else would want to do what he does with an airplane.
Daddy took the kids to some ground displays.
I liked this one.  It even looks fast.  The F-22 Raptor.
This one was easy to get in to.
We weren't able to see the blue angels but their support C-130 flew over us.  I think they were grounded because of the low celling but we left to find a place away from the base to view them and beat the congestion.  This was the only plane we saw.
Runways make great parking lots but they are awfully long!
